TIRTIR Milk Skin Toner is a vegan, fragrance-free milky toner for dry, dull or sensitive skin. I suggest it if a watery toner leaves your skin tight and you want a soft, hydrating first step after cleansing.
The milky texture comes from rice bran extract, combined with 2% niacinamide, ceramide NP, panthenol and centella. It feels light and sinks in quickly, so it layers easily under serum and cream. It also contains witch hazel, which some very sensitive skin finds a little drying.
🔬 Does 2% niacinamide help with dull, uneven skin?
In a Japanese study, 120 women with tanned facial skin used either a plain moisturiser, a sunscreen, or 2% niacinamide together with sunscreen. After 4 weeks, the niacinamide groups had less pigmentation and lighter-looking skin than with the plain moisturiser.1 To be honest, the study was short, only included Japanese women and tested a cream that stays on the skin, not this toner. So I see the niacinamide here as a gentle helper for a fresher, more even glow, always with daily sunscreen.
Questions about TIRTIR Milk Skin Toner
What is a milky toner?
A toner with a light, milk-like texture. It hydrates more than a watery toner but is still much lighter than a cream. It does not tighten or exfoliate the skin.
Is it suitable for oily or combination skin?
Yes, the texture is light enough. If your skin gets oily quickly, one thin layer is enough. TIRTIR also makes a "Light" version for oily and blemish-prone skin.
Can I use it with retinol or vitamin C?
Yes. A calm, hydrating toner is a good base before stronger active ingredients. Apply it first, then your serum and cream.
