COSRX Advanced Snail Mucin 96 Power Essence is a lightweight hydration layer with the characteristic stretchy texture of snail secretion filtrate. It is appealing when skin feels dehydrated but you want flexibility to choose your moisturiser separately.
The formula contains 96% snail secretion filtrate, supported by betaine, panthenol, allantoin and sodium hyaluronate. That percentage refers to the filtrate mixture, not 96% purified collagen or another single active. Its most convincing everyday role is hydration and improved surface comfort.
I would choose the essence when you enjoy layering a small amount beneath cream. The immediate smoother, plumper-looking finish comes mainly from moisture; it should not be presented as a treatment that heals acne scars. Apply after cleansing and follow with moisturiser. Avoid if you have a known reaction to snail-derived cosmetics.

SNAIL MUCIN
Secreted by the glands of snails, it protects the surface of the snail's skin and moisturizes to prevent it from getting dry. Snail secretion is known to consist of very similar ingredients as our skin: it contains collagen, elastin, glycosaminoglycans, hyaluronic acid. Because of its richness in these actives and water, snail slime is claimed to a real all rounder: it protects damaged skin, soothes irritated skin, strengthens aging skin, also reducing unwanted pigmentation.
