How to use
  • After serum, apply a small amount around the eye contour and gently massage or tap into the skin until absorbed.
  • The cream can also be applied to other areas prone to fine lines, such as around the mouth.
  • Use morning and/or evening. During the day, finish your routine with broad-spectrum sunscreen.

The SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Bakuchiol Eye Cream is a nourishing anti-aging eye cream formulated to address fine lines, dehydration, uneven tone and loss of elasticity around the delicate eye area.

At the center of the formulation is 0.5% bakuchiol (5,000 ppm). Bakuchiol is a plant-derived antioxidant that has gained considerable attention in anti-aging skincare because research suggests that it can influence several pathways involved in collagen metabolism, pigmentation and photoaging.

Bakuchiol is frequently marketed as a “vegan retinol,” but from a medical skincare perspective, I prefer to distinguish the two. Bakuchiol is not a retinoid, and the clinical evidence behind retinoids remains substantially stronger. However, 0.5% is a meaningful concentration of bakuchiol and corresponds to concentrations investigated in clinical research, making this much more interesting than products containing only trace amounts.

The formula also contains Madagascan Centella asiatica extract (7,388 ppm) together with madecassic acid, asiaticoside and asiatic acid. These characteristic Centella triterpenes provide soothing, antioxidant and skin-conditioning support.

The Probio-Cica concept additionally incorporates Lactobacillus ferment, complementing the Centella-focused formulation.

Niacinamide appears relatively high in the ingredient list. This well-studied form of vitamin B3 supports epidermal barrier function and can help improve uneven pigmentation, making it particularly useful when the eye contour appears dull or uneven in tone.

What I particularly like about this eye cream is its barrier-supporting base. Squalane, shea butter, Ceramide NP, phytosphingosine and hydrogenated lecithin provide emollient and lipid support, helping maintain moisture and reduce the dry, tight feeling that can make fine lines around the eyes appear more pronounced.

Glycerin, betaine, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid provide additional humectant hydration, helping the delicate eye area appear smoother and more plumped.

The formula also contains adenosine and Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 for additional skin-smoothing and anti-aging support.

Overall, this is a particularly well-rounded eye cream combining a meaningful 0.5% bakuchiol concentration with Centella, niacinamide, ceramide and a substantial moisturizing base.

Pro Tips

  • This is one of the bakuchiol eye creams where I think the concentration is genuinely worth mentioning. It contains 0.5% bakuchiol, a concentration that has actually been investigated in clinical research, rather than a trace amount included mainly for marketing.
