ANUA Green Lemon Vita C Blemish Serum

High-Strength 20% Vitamin C Serum with 56% Green Lemon Extract

This concentrated antioxidant serum combines 20% pure ascorbic acid with 56% green lemon extract. The clinically established role of topical vitamin C makes this primarily an antioxidant and brightening treatment for dullness, uneven pigmentation and signs of photoaging.

At 20%, ascorbic acid is a high concentration and is more likely to cause stinging or irritation than lower-strength vitamin C products. The formula also contains ferulic acid, tocopherol, glutathione, bisabolol, panthenol and multiple forms of hyaluronic acid, which complement the antioxidant and hydrating profile.

The formula contains several citrus and aromatic essential oils and fragrance allergens including limonene, linalool and citral. I would therefore not choose it as a first vitamin C serum for highly reactive or fragrance-sensitive skin.

Key Benefits

  • 20% pure ascorbic acid
  • 56% green lemon extract
  • Antioxidant support against environmental oxidative stress
  • Helps improve dullness and uneven-looking pigmentation
  • Ferulic acid and vitamin E complement the antioxidant formula
  • Multiple humectants support hydration

Ideal For

Experienced vitamin C users with normal, combination or oily skin concerned with dullness, photoaging and uneven pigmentation. Less suitable for very sensitive or fragrance-reactive skin.

Key ingredients

20% Ascorbic Acid (200,000 ppm) — Pure vitamin C and the main evidence-based active in the formula. At this high concentration, it provides antioxidant support and can help improve the appearance of uneven pigmentation and photodamage, but it may also sting or irritate sensitive skin.

56% Green Lemon Extract (560,000 ppm) — Forms the botanical base of the serum and provides additional antioxidant and skin-conditioning compounds. It should be viewed as supportive to, rather than equivalent to, the 20% pure ascorbic acid.

Ferulic Acid — An antioxidant that complements vitamin C and vitamin E. It is included relatively low in the INCI, so its exact contribution cannot be quantified from the ingredient list alone.

Tocopherol (Vitamin E) — A lipid-soluble antioxidant that complements the antioxidant profile of the formula and helps protect skin lipids from oxidative stress.

Glutathione — An antioxidant included as a supportive ingredient. Topical evidence is less established than for ascorbic acid, and its concentration is not disclosed.

Alpha-Bisabolol — A soothing ingredient that may help reduce irritation and improve skin comfort, useful in a formula containing a high concentration of acidic vitamin C.

Panthenol + Beta-Glucan + Allantoin — Soothing and humectant ingredients that support hydration and skin comfort.

Multiple forms of Hyaluronic Acid — Sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid and several modified or hydrolyzed forms act primarily as humectants, helping bind water in the upper layers of the skin.

Ceramide NP + Hydrogenated Lecithin — Barrier-supporting lipids that complement the hydrating ingredients, although they occur relatively low in the INCI.

Niacinamide — Supports barrier function and more even-looking skin tone, but it appears very low in the ingredient list and should not be considered a major niacinamide treatment in this serum.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate — A vitamin C derivative included in addition to pure ascorbic acid. It appears lower in the INCI and is best considered a secondary supportive antioxidant.

Adenosine — A skin-conditioning ingredient commonly used in Korean skincare to support a smoother-looking complexion.

Essential Oils + Fragrance Allergens — Orange flower, litsea cubeba, grapefruit, bergamot and spearmint oils are present, together with limonene, linalool and citral. These can be relevant for very sensitive, reactive or fragrance-intolerant skin.

INCI

Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract (560,000 ppm), Ascorbic Acid (200,000 ppm), Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sodium Hydroxide, C12-14 Alketh-12, Alpha-Bisabolol, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Water, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Allantoin, Glycerin, Glutathione, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Oil, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Adenosine, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Disodium EDTA, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Tocopherol, Ferulic Acid, Barosma Betulina Leaf Extract, n-Butyl Alcohol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-10 Stearate, Sorbitol, Panthenol, Beta-Glucan, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Sucrose Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Beta-Carotene, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Niacinamide, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Thioctic Acid, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Pyridoxine, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Folic Acid, Biotin, Ceramide NP, Ubiquinone, Cyanocobalamin, Thiamine HCl, Riboflavin, Linoleic Acid, Hesperidin, Ergothioneine, Limonene, Linalool, Citral

Pro Tips

  • 20% pure ascorbic acid is a genuinely high concentration; more is not automatically better for sensitive skin.
  • The formula contains several aromatic essential oils and fragrance allergens, so it is not my first choice for highly reactive skin.
  • Vitamin C complements sunscreen but never replaces it.
