How to use
AM
PM
- AM or PM: Apply a small amount to clean skin before moisturiser; begin once daily if sensitive.
- Spread gently over the face or areas with uneven tone, avoiding the eyes.
- AM is a practical choice under sunscreen. You can also use it at night; stop if irritation persists.
When I look at a serum for post-breakout marks, I want a clear reason behind the promise. AXIS-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum contains 5% niacinamide, an ingredient with clinical evidence for improving the appearance of uneven pigmentation.
Niacinamide can reduce the transfer of pigment-containing packets between skin cells. That makes this lightweight Korean serum interesting for brown post-acne marks and uneven tone. Glycerin, hyaluronic acid and squalane also support hydration, so the formula is not only about 'brightening'.
I would pair it with consistent sunscreen and realistic expectations. Brown marks may gradually soften; indented acne scars will not disappear with a serum. The reviewed formula contains rosemary essential oil, so it is not fragrance-free and may not be my first choice for very fragrance-reactive skin.
Key ingredients
Key ingredients
Niacinamide — 5%
Vitamin B3 can reduce melanosome transfer, supporting a more even-looking tone. Ingredient studies do not guarantee an identical result from every 5% serum.
Glycerin, sodium hyaluronate and propanediol
Humectants attract and bind water. This helps explain the hydrated finish without implying that skin needs a complex ten-step routine.
Squalane
An emollient that smooths the skin surface and reduces a dry feel. It is not established here as a treatment for inflammation.
Rice, papaya and sea-buckthorn extracts
Botanical supporting ingredients. Their presence is not equivalent to a measured vitamin C dose or a proven exfoliating papain treatment.
Rosemary leaf oil
A fragrant essential oil. Consider this if fragrance triggers irritation; 'no artificial fragrance' is not the same as fragrance-free.

Pro Tips
Pro Tips
- For pigmentation, I would rather see a simple routine used consistently than several brightening products introduced at once. Daily sun protection matters.
- Assess gradual changes over several weeks. A new, changing or unexplained pigmented spot should be examined rather than treated cosmetically.
