Hyaluronic Moisturising Ampoule

The Esfolio Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Ampoule is a lightweight hydrating serum designed for dehydrated, tight or moisture-deficient skin. Its formula combines several forms of hyaluronic acid with glycerin, betaine, trehalose, panthenol and snail secretion filtrate to increase hydration and leave the skin feeling softer and more supple.

The most interesting part of this formulation is its multi-form hyaluronic acid complex, containing Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid and Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate.

Hyaluronic acid is a humectant—a molecule capable of binding significant amounts of water. When applied topically, it primarily increases hydration within the stratum corneum and upper epidermis, helping the skin appear smoother and temporarily reducing the visibility of fine dehydration lines.

Using different forms and molecular sizes of hyaluronic acid can provide complementary hydration at the skin surface. I would, however, avoid claims that hyaluronic acid penetrates deeply into the dermis or directly replaces the skin's own hyaluronic acid.

The serum also has a strong multi-humectant base. Glycerin, butylene glycol, Glycereth-26, betaine and trehalose work alongside hyaluronic acid to attract and retain water, which makes this formulation particularly useful when the skin feels tight or looks dull due to dehydration.

The formula also contains snail secretion filtrate. Snail mucin contains naturally occurring glycoproteins and other skin-conditioning components and primarily contributes additional humectant and moisturizing properties in this formulation. I would consider it supportive rather than presenting it as a treatment for scars or wrinkles.

An additional Aquaxyl-type moisturizing complex of xylitylglucoside, anhydroxylitol and xylitol, together with glucose, further complements the humectant system and supports moisture retention.

A blend of cranberry, raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, blueberry and açaí extracts provides additional antioxidant and skin-conditioning support, although I consider these secondary ingredients rather than the main reason to choose this serum.

Overall, this is primarily a hydration-focused ampoule rather than an intensive anti-aging treatment. Its strength lies in combining multiple humectants to improve water content in the upper layers of the skin and create an immediate smoother, plumper appearance.
